Volunteer of the Month: Aprille Winslow

Help us celebrate and give a big round of applause to our incredible Volunteer of the Month, Aprille Winslow - Fierce Heart. Fast Hands. Full Throttle.

Aprille is fire—unshakable, bold,
A whirlwind of purpose with a heart made of gold.
She knows what she wants and she makes it appear,
With action, not words—and without any fear.

She’ll give you her time, her strength, her grace,
Whatever it takes to lift up this place.
With fifteen of her own cats filling her home,
Plus fosters galore—she never feels alone.

She takes on the hard ones, the broken, the small,
We think her husband’s the whisperer to them all.
He cuddles, she leads—and side by side,
They give scared little lives a place to reside.

They built a whole kitten room, cozy and bright,
And packed it with kittens—twenty-plus, overnight!
She reacts on instinct, fast and precise,
Sometimes no breath—but always the right slice.

She does more than her share, no complaints, no pause,
She’s tough as they come, with the softest cause.
She takes no crap, speaks straight and true,
Feels for the needy and sees the job through.

She wants all the answers—right now, not later.
She’s the fixer, the doer, the generator.
And if that’s not enough? She’s got a cool streak,
Busting ghosts in parades nearly every week!  

So here’s to Aprille— an unstoppable light,
Lifting up kittens, charging toward the right.
For the chaos she calms and the lives she’s saved,
We honor your fire, your heart, and your brave.
