💕 AT 2.7 POUNDS, TADPOLE NEEDS YOUR HELP 👉
That is all Tadpole weighed when she was pulled from the darkness of a cluttered garage. At six months old, she should be a vibrant, nearly full-grown kitten. Instead, while she has the adult teeth of a cat, she is trapped in the body of a 10-week-old kitten.
Her "meals" for her entire life? Mashed potatoes and bread. No protein. No nutrients. Just a slow crawl toward starvation.
A Community Crisis in the Shadows
Tadpole is the face of a heartbreaking situation unfolding right in our neighborhood. She was one of six cats trapped in that garage, but she is part of a much larger colony of nearly 20 cats living in a hoarding situation.
The homeowners—ages 75 and 83—are overwhelmed. Without trash service or the ability to provide care, their property has become a prison of neglect. While we are working with compassion to help these neighbors, we are racing against the clock to save the cats before "kitten season" turns this crisis into a catastrophe.
The Fight for Every Breath
Tadpole is currently our most fragile warrior. Her list of battles is staggering:
A ruptured eye that she is currently too weak to have surgically removed.
Labored breathing and a hard, distended belly.
A kidney stone—an agonizing diagnosis for a kitten who has already suffered so much.
Every breath she takes is manual labor. Every ounce of weight she gains is a miracle. Right now, she is living on nebulizer treatments, heavy antibiotics, and round-the-clock supportive care.
We Are The Shield
This is what hoarding and untreated struggles look like: underfed, untreated, and unseen. But this is also what a community looks like when it refuses to look away.
Our trappers are on-site daily. Our fosters have opened their hearts. But the medical bills for a case this size—especially for a kitten in critical condition like Tadpole—are mounting rapidly.
We are fighting for Tadpole. Will you fight with us?
Your donation today provides:
Critical Care for Tadpole: X-rays, bloodwork, and the life-saving eye surgery she needs once she is stable.
Breaking the Cycle: Spay/neuter (TNR) and medical care for the nearly 20 other cats on the property.
Ending the Hunger: Real food and veterinary intervention for a colony that has survived on scraps for too long.
TNR isn't just about cats; it’s about restoring balance. It protects our local birds, stabilizes the population, and ensures no more kittens are born into a world of mashed potatoes and pain.
